Job Summary:
Are you an experienced creative leader (and wordsmith) who can steer strategy, shape stories, and lead teams to deliver exceptional content?
Who’s asking? Imagine a traditional agency. We’re not that. At 2Stories, we seek to create and share the stories people want. We speak, write, strategise, conceptualise, plan, direct, and produce content-led marketing fluently.
We’re looking for a Group Editor to lead the content and creative direction for one of our South financial services clients.
In this role, you’ll guide content strategy across multiple platforms and audiences. You’ll be the strategic and creative backbone of the team, responsible for guiding content that informs, inspires, and delivers results.
You will mentor a team and work closely with clients to understand their business. While you’ll have editorial oversight, you’ll also get stuck in when needed, from shaping briefs to refining final copy.
Essential skills:
● Team management – being able to build and manage multi-disciplinary teams working on multiple projects.
● Strong communication game – writing clear briefs, giving constructive feedback, and presenting strategy and ideas to both clients and colleagues. Your presentation skills need to be on point, too.
● Command of language – simplifying complex financial information without losing impact or credibility.
● Creative and strategic thinking – developing content strategies, steering creative solutions and identifying content opportunities. Also assisting the account director in unlocking new business opportunities within the account.
● Client service – understanding the client’s business and building trust and rapport with various stakeholders.
● Agility – the agility to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment with changing needs
● Time management – being focused, effective and fast with briefing, editing and quality control.
● Cool head – keeping calm under pressure.
● Emotional intelligence – having empathy for clients and team members.
Requirements:
● A strong interest in financial services and employee benefits.
● 10+ years of experience in an editorial role in an agency or publisher environment.
● Proven experience leading a team.
● A solid understanding of the marketing and communications landscape. Experience in financial services is a plus.
