Job Summary:
As an Art Director, you are responsible for crafting innovative ideas and impactful designs,
using visual styles to bring life to bold creative ideas, conceptual development and crafted
storytelling across channels.
Skills Required:
An M&C Art Director must possess the following skills in order to succeed.
Conceptual Thinking:
• You're young and fresh and you bring your brave, new, diverse thoughts tobrainstorms.
• Speak up, have opinions and ideas.
• Ideas are your currency and strong conceptual thinking is key.
Execution:
• You understand the brand you are visualising composing/designing a look and feel for.
• Be able to adapt to different visual styles and corporate identities.
• You should have a working knowledge of the Adobe Design suite (InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator)
• Never hand your work over unless it's been checked - mistakes can be costly.
Presentation:
• You can present your work well internally and visualise your idea for reviews.
• You think it through and can justify why you've done what you've done.
• On the rare occasion you may present to clients, but only if you're brilliant at it.
Production:
• While you are not responsible for choosing suppliers on your own, you show an
active interest in learning about production and the best suppliers to work with.
• You are curious and try and find answers to better understand.• When allowed in the door at production you are your CD’s right hand, supplying
titles and assets when needed.
People & Relationship Management:
• You're not responsible for looking after anyone directly but work collaboratively in team.
• Your relationship with a copywriter is critical, you work together to bring work to life, and you don’t stand merely by as their design hands.
• You listen to those above you (and question by all means) and seek to form meaningful relationships with your colleagues across key departments as you bring a sense of energy, passion and fun into the Agency.
• In addition, raise your hand when help is required (even outside your remit or portfolio) and demonstrate a keenness and love towards the broader agency initiatives (eg CSI / culture / team building etc).
Additional Role Dimensions:
• Business accountability: Be fully immersed and gain an understanding of the client business as well as the competitor activity.
• Internal relationships: Establish strong relationship with all internal stakeholders.
• Be an adaptable team player.
• External relationship: You understand the supportive role you play for your CD and bring pro-active ideas and concerns to your CD’s attention for them to take up with our clients.

• Advertising hunger: You are actively looking for and at cool advertising ideas, and often immerse yourself in other work (global and local) that compel people to love brands and buy from them.
Experience Required:
• 3 -5 years’ experience as an Art Director in the Advertising industry.
• An in-depth understanding of the key departments, processes and structures within an Advertising Agency.
• Good knowledge of media landscape (traditional - TTL, ATL & BTL & digital) Illustrator.
• Bonus would be a working knowledge of other platforms that help an art director bring ideas to life: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Dimension, Mid journey etc.
• Experienced in working with internal team and senior clients across multiple stakeholders.
Qualification Required:
• Art Direction tertiary qualification
• Graphic design tertiary qualification
