Shyft, the award-winning global money app powered by Standard Bank, needed to raise awareness and drive usage of its fintech features, such as forex, multi-currency cards, and international investing, among South Africans.

2Stories created Shyft Squadcation, a social-native video series following six relatable fictional friends on an Italian group holiday. Told entirely via a simulated group chat, each episode used humour and narrative storytelling to demonstrate Shyft’s real-life use cases: buying forex, splitting bills, spending globally, and investing offshore. Distributed weekly across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts, the campaign blends education with entertainment.

The series racked up 5.3 million impressions and 4.3million views, and app downloads increased by more than 44% compared to the year before. Cost per play dropped to just R0.0085,and social followers grew by over 25% onInstagram and 51% on Facebook.
